Heart of Mersey (HoM) became a charity in 2005 following widespread consultation with its partners. Having charitable status allows us to strengthen our advocacy and to increase capacity to attract funding at a level required to support our work across Greater Merseyside.
As a charity we pledge to undertake and promote medical and scientific research and education in relation to the prevention of heart disease in, but not limited to, Greater Merseyside and other areas in Northwest England.
HoM works collaboratively with the public, private and independent sectors across Greater Merseyside, covering the areas of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.
We aim to 'add value' to local programmes and interventions by working at local area, regional, national and international levels to tackle CHD prevention through integrated, evidence-based initiatives and public health advocacy.
HoM welcomes donations in the form of legacies or sponsorship. For more information please contact Mike Parker on 0151 928 7820 or email mike.parker@heartofmersey.org.uk
In the meantime you may wish to sponsor Heart of Mersey's Chief Executive Robin Ireland in the New York Marathon on 5th November. Having enjoyed the challenge of cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats last year Robin is now in training for his next big challenge. "As part of our healthy stadia work I've joined forces with Everton Football Club in the Community and will be running to raise funds jointly for both good causes," said Robin.
