The first 12 weeks of the programme includes weekly group sessions on healthy eating, behaviour change and physical activity. This is then followed by monthly support sessions for the remainder of the programme. Physical activity classes are a key part of the 'Step by Step' programme and are delivered throughout the year.
Sessions are delivered in community venues across Chester, Ellesmere Port and surrounding areas. Both daytime and evening programmes are available.
Who can join the programme? 'Step by Step' is a healthy weight and lifestyle programme for adults aged 18 and over.
Referral to the programme depends on an individual's weight and health, their readiness to make lifestyle changes and commitment to the year long programme.
People who are interested in joining the 'Step by Step' Healthy Weight & Lifestyle programme need to contact their Doctor or Practice Nurse to discuss if they can be referred.
